Forests and Tree Farms

Week 9 - October 31 -November 4, 2022

Forests are so much more than the trees we see. Forests are a living entity that involves an interdependence of hundreds of species from nitrogen fixing bacteria and mycorrhizal fungi to prowling predators and unfathomable old growth trees.

Throughout the week we will explore both forests and forestry. Wednesday is a Flex Day but the class is required to be at school for our field trip to Cathedral Grove. We will depart at 9:05 and likely return to school by 2:00. All the buses will be running a normal schedule.

Assessment

1) Tree study (2 parts), 2) Palm Oil -case study
