Week 8 - October 25 - 30, 2020
We will start the study of terrestrial systems by taking a close look at what is under our feet. Bedrock to clay and all of the organics we will examine soil and profiles of the forest foundation. We will be sampling and testing soils considering characteristics conducive to growth and life. Social impacts of soils like agriculture show our anthropomorphic effects on the endemic ecology. Sometimes we can achieve sustainable systems and sometimes the cost is too high for the environment.
